This version runs on 3 AAA batteries (not included) or the Silva Hybrid Battery (included). Free Technology integrates the power cord into the headband, eliminating annoying cables and tangles. The hybrid battery, compatible with AAA batteries or the Silva Hybrid Rechargeable Battery, offers the flexibility to upgrade the headlamp in the future. It also features gripping surfaces and a red rear safety light for added visibility.

With a more powerful cooler, the Trail Runner Free 2 reaches up to 500 lumens with the hybrid battery, while maintaining comfort and lightness. It incorporates Silva Intelligent Light technology, a dual-beam system that combines a long-range spotlight and a close-range floodlight. This reduces head movement, improves control and balance, decreases fatigue, and increases speed.
