The Ortles Medium 3 down jacket is the latest iteration of our warm insulating mountaineering garment. It combines the warmth of a duvet with minimal volume. Whether used as an insulating midlayer or outerwear, the 750-fill 90/10 Responsible Down Standard duck down and TirolWool® Responsive hybrid insulating inserts are strategically placed to provide the ideal amount of heat retention needed by each body part.
TirolWool® Responsive still keeps you warm even when wet, which is why we used it on the hood, shoulders and cuffs. The lightweight, abrasion-resistant ripstop nylon outer fabric is ideal for alpine use. It has a custom hood adjustable at the back and a high collar to offer maximum protection against storms. It incorporates an ergonomic design on the sleeves and shoulders to prevent the hems from lifting when climbing. This jacket is stored in its own integrated pack-it pocket and has a two-way front zipper that offers greater adaptability, such as access to a harness and an anchoring device. Our semi-thick down jacket that prioritizes low weight and compressibility.
