Description

The Kong GI-GI belay plate is a multi-purpose, hot-forged aluminum belay tool ideal for a variety of climbing applications. Its rugged and reliable design makes it a workhorse for any climber.

It can be used with single, double, or twin ropes, and its main uses include:

  • Self-locking belay for one or two seconds of rope access.
  • Rappeling.
  • Rescue.

The center rib of the plate acts as a fulcrum, allowing two people to be recovered even if they are secured to ropes of different diameters. In the event of a fall, only the rope under tension is locked, leaving the other free to slide. In addition, the GI-GI model can be combined with a rope clamp and a pedal for emergency ascents.
