The Steep Jacket features a hybrid construction that combines Airlite Windproof material with Polartec Alpha insulation and AFT Double Weave Pro panels for optimal performance in high-intensity ski mountaineering and ski touring activities.
Airlite Windproof fabric is lightweight, windproof and breathable. Polartec Alpha insulation, originally developed for the US Special Forces, is strategically placed in key areas of the jacket's interior. This active insulation efficiently retains heat while allowing rapid moisture evacuation, ideal for intense activities such as ski touring, cross-country skiing or fast climbing. Alpha's hydrophobic fibers resist moisture and dry quickly, providing a soft and warm fleece-like texture.
Flexible AFT Double Weave Pro panels, along with the jacket's technical cut, ensure unrestricted freedom of movement. The PFC FREE water-repellent finish protects the shell fabric and insulation from moisture.
The jacket features a YKK Vislon Slim main zipper, a molded plastic zipper with tighter teeth that makes folding and packing easier. The hood is helmet compatible, and the high-positioned main pockets are accessible even with a hipbelt or seat harness.
