The G-SCREAMER is a lightweight, small and compact HMPE heatsink that offers significant safety reserves in alpine terrain or when climbing on large walls or on ice. With a length of 15 cm, it hangs between two carabiners like a quickdraw and is used as protection in case of questionable anchor points or large gaps to minimize the load on such anchor points. In the event of a fall, the shock absorber deploys, absorbing the energy and reducing the impact force at the anchor point to less than 4 kN.
The total length after full deployment of the shock absorber is 100 cm. Thanks to its minimum weight of less than 50 g, the G-SCREAMER is slightly heavier than a conventional quickdraw, but offers a significant safety reserve when attached to a harness. As a further innovation, the G-SCREAMER, combined with rope clamps according to EN 567, meets the dynamic requirements set out in EN 15151-1 (manually assisted locking braking devices) to enable belaying with rope clamps. This combination greatly reduces the likelihood of damage to the rope in the event of a fall by the passenger.
Characteristics:
- Minimum breaking strength: 22 kN
- Certification: EN 566
- Material: HMPE
- Approximate weight of 50 g.
