Due to its relatively low weight, the Shadow gives you the advantage in onsight sport climbing. This also means the Shadow is good for sport climbers who occasionally trad but don't want a second set of quickdraws.
The areas where the Shadow hangs from the studs have been reinforced with additional metal for added strength. The clean finish leaves a clean profile that reduces the risk of snagging.
Sports carabiners are designed to be robust and easy to hook. Hot forging allows extra metal to move into high-wear areas, making these carabiners well-suited for clip bolts, repeated falls, and the heavy use of modern sport climbing.
Solid gate carabiners are suitable for sport climbing, where ease of handling and wear resistance are more important than low weight.
