The RACK descender, designed for caving, is easy to handle and use with low-stretch kernmantel ropes of 9 to 13 mm diameter on a single strand. For long descents of more than 80 meters, it can be used on two low-stretch kernmantel ropes of 8 to 11 mm diameter.
Its design allows the bars attached to the rope to be adjusted at any time to obtain the desired friction. The good distribution of friction and heat helps to preserve the rope, preventing it from twisting. In addition, the life of the device can be optimized by replacing the brake bars.
