Despite their simple appearance, Wallnuts are very outstanding pieces of climbing hardware. A different alloy is used for each size: the smaller Wallnuts are made of a harder alloy to prevent cutting, while the larger sizes are softer so they can bite into locations. The larger Wallnuts feature a hollow construction to reduce weight.
Nuts can be placed in two different orientations, allowing a single nut to cover a variety of cracks. They are tapered on both the face and sides, which helps them sit better in crevices that are rarely parallel-sided. Grooved faces reduce weight, help the nut sit better in crevices, improve security in shallow locations, and resist lifting when a leader passes through them.
Wall nuts mount to cables that are rigid enough to allow overhead placements, while flexible enough to reduce the chance of lifting. They are colour-coded to correspond with the rest of our protection range and to allow quick and easy selection of the correct size for your harness.
Wallnuts crackers are the foundation on which to build a complete climbing rack. Complemented with other more specialized protection pieces, they are guaranteed to be the most used piece of protection in your harness.
